Private Event!

The 5th Annual 5K “iThrive” Family Fun Day for Miami-Dade County employees and their families. We will take this time to recognize our thriving and resilient County workforce and provide their families with an opportunity to enjoy a Family Fun Day that supports our wellness initiative. 

The experienced runners will begin the 5K Run at 7:00 a.m., followed by the general race at 7:30 a.m. The course will lead participants on a winding adventure through one of our county’s most popular destinations, Zoo Miami. Walkers and Runner will get the opportunity to take in the sights of the animals while participating in our active event. At the completion of the run/walk, employees and their families can celebrate what makes our employees and County thrive with Family Fun Day festivities in the Camel Corner, our designated Miami-Dade County area for the event. Participants will also have all-day entry to the Zoo upon opening at 10:00 am. Family Fun Day activities, fair and snacks are planned immediately following the race until 11:00 am. 

Race day packets are guaranteed to those who sign up before September 24th*. The packet will include a Miami-Dade County "iThrive" 5K and Family Fun Day shirt*  

*Those that register after September 4th are not guaranteed their requested size for the MDC "iThrive" 5K T-shirt. Orders must be placed for the shirts in a timely fashion however we will do our best to accommodate when possible. 

Note:  We are constantly monitoring all developments and changes regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.  We plan to proceed with an in-person event.  Should circumstances change where guidelines and restrictions force us to change plans, or if we feel we can not provide a safe and comfortable environment for our participants, we will automatically transfer all in-person registrations to the virtual edition of the event. Should such a change be required, please note that due to the nature of virtual events, we will not offer any top finisher or age range awards.  Reminder: it is our intention to proceed as planned with an in-person event.  We will post any changes on the registration page and will communicate directly with you via the email you used during registration should anything change.
