All full or part-time Miami-Dade County Public Schools employees who sign-up, pay the registration fee, and participate in the 5K race will be eligible to receive a Fitbit Inspire 2 device from the Office of Risk & Benefits Management. Eligible employees will receive an email notification from the Office of Risk & Benefits Management the week of March 22nd with information with instructions as to how to receive their device.

**IMPORTANT**
Please contact your SCHOOL TEAM CAPTAIN before coming to pick up your packet. If your TEAM CAPTAIN has picked up for the team, you are to receive it from them at your school.
You will NOT receive it at this packet pick-up. Please check prior to driving downtown. Due to limited quantities, no exceptions will be made. 

 

 

The Foundation for New Education Initiatives (FNEI) and Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho will team up once again to host the 6th Annual Superintendent's 5K Challenge, Race for Education benefiting local public schools. FNEI will donate a percentage of race proceeds to participating schools based on the number or participants each school team registers. Participants are encouraged to choose and run for a school team, so FNEI can enhance school fund-raising totals. FNEI has distributed nearly  $160,000 back to the participating schools. Race or walk for education, and help support Miami-Dade County Public Schools!

•Run anytime/anywhere (3/6 - 3/13) must carry a phone for official timing.

RaceJoy is a GPS-based tracking app that follows your progress in real-time as you run your race. Both the runner and the spectator must download the app, and keep their phones with them - but with a few easy steps, you have access to a number of fun features.

•LIVE PHONE TRACKING
This is not an estimator and is based on the actual position of the participant's phone - your supporters know exactly where you are. Includes NearMe alerts and handy MeetUp feature.
•GPS PROGRESS ALERTS
Receive progress alerts for yourself and others as you cross milestones along the course. Typically, alerts are sent at EVERY MILE, including location, pace, elapsed time and estimated finish time. 
•CHEERS
Your family and friends can send motivational, pre-recorded audio cheer clips or personalized Text-to-Cheer messages to race participants leading up to, during, and after the race. 
•VIRTUAL RESULTS SUBMISSION
Your results will be automatically submitted to the race.
